Personality
Maisy is the calm content we always want to retain in our dogs. She’s easy-going, content whether the day brings adventure or a little extra time for a nap. She’s confident and trainable.
Why She's in the Program
Maisy has the sound and balanced temperament that we’ve always loved in our English Labradors, this is why she was such an incredible mom for us and why we’ve continued her lines through her daughter, Merida.
Why We Love Her
Maisy is the perfect work-from-home-dog. She loves to sit with you whether that means she’s taking up more than her fair share of the couch or if that means she’s quietly sleeping on your feet as you complete your third Zoom meeting for the day. She’s happy to be where you are, with you, no matter the task.
Not only does she enjoy the quality time in a noninvasive way, but she’s happy if you’re engaging with her or if you are only able to have her in the room. Most of the time people don’t even know she’s there, except that their feet are a little warmer and cozy.
She loves to swim, whether it’s a kiddie pool, our lake, or the ocean. If you’ve tossed something in the water, she’ll get it for you.
Maisy is a bigger female, coming in around 90 lbs, but that never slowed her down, she’s full of power and stability.
Maisy was a great mom for us, producing some of our most beloved puppies, we couldn’t help ourselves but keep a puppy back to continue her lines in our breeding program, so we could continue to share her wonderful qualities. We kept back Merida, who looks just like her mama, but is much smaller.
No Chew Toys Will Survive
Maisy, as sweet and loving as she is, has decided it is her personal mission to shred any and all chew toys, it is one of her favorite pastimes. She doesn’t just squeeze them or carry them around, she takes them apart, piece by piece. While she would never hurt a person or child, she’s all about the chew toys. We make sure she has a good supply at all times for her amusement and entertainment.
She is Always Up for a Swim
This girl loves water, if she could stay in water all day, she would. She loves it so much that when I fill up her water bowl she reaches in with both paws and tries to swim, sloshing the water around the bowl. We’ve recently invested in some extra-absorbant towels to support her in her water-bowl swimming.
