December 2024 Update:
Cypress has been placed in his home with his boy and he’s already doing great work! Within one week Cypress detected a seizure and made alert, providing ample time for the boy to situate and adjust. We are so proud of Cypress for being just over a year old and already making a difference in his family’s lives.
September 2024 Update: Cypress has been matched with a 15-year-old boy as a seizure alert dog. As though he immediately knew his match, upon entering the room, Cypress immediately walked up to the boy and sat next to him on the couch.
Cypress within a few short months, was already able to detect seizure motion at its earliest state of motion. We are starting to see potential for him to detect the early signs of seizure before the actual physical motions occur.
We are excited for the contribution Cypress will make to this boy’s life. Additionally, we are thrilled at the exciting life Cypress is enjoying. He loves the water–as Poodles do!–and he’s been off on surfing and tubing adventures.
It brings us such satisfaction at Tamarack that we can produce a dog that can be so giving and then find a home that not only benefits from Cypress’s service training, but in return gives Cypress the best.
We couldn’t be happier with this pairing and their success!
“It was so sweet, there were about 7 people in the room and Cypress walked right over to Sam and got on the couch beside him like he knew!”
