Rose went to Blue Path Service Dogs, a program dedicated to matching service dogs to families that have children with autism. Rose was placed with a puppy raiser and started her journey to becoming a service dog. She was a quick learner and was filled with lots of potential.
She quickly bonded with her puppy raiser. Her bond was so strong that her raiser felt that she may not be the best fit for the future demands involved in moving from family to family as she goes through the process of becoming a service dog.
In the best interest of Rose, the decision was made to place her with a forever family where she can form a forever bond.
She is now living with her new forever family. I am happy to say that her family has said she has transitioned well and she is an amazing addition to their family.
Her family is hoping to have her become a member of the staff at their dental office as a therapy support dog for incoming patients.
We have high hopes for all of our puppies that are placed in service organizations. It is important to keep in mind not only what is best for the people that our dogs partner with, but to also remember what is best for our dogs.
Puppies in a litter can all have very different personalities. As they mature, they will show us where their strengths are and avenues where they will excel. It is important to honor what is best for each individual dog and place them in settings where they will be at their best.
This is the reason we complete personality testing for all of our litters at 7 weeks of age. We work very hard to try to understand each puppy in a litter and match them to the best lifestyle for them.
Our goal is to match families with dogs that will blend in with their lifestyle seamlessly.
